Longines 1923 Enamel Cushion Caliber 11.84N

Longines 1923 Enamel Cushion Caliber 11.84N

$0.00Price

This historically important Longines watch dates back to 1923. At a time when Rolex wasn't really yet a household name ,  it was a time when Longines was the official timing instrument for the most important aueronautical expeditions (none of that movie sponsership deals today) They had developed the first chronograph ever for a wristwatch case, and the first flyback chronograph the 13ZN. Charles Lindbergh the renowed pilot after using a Longines Weems for numerous record breaking flights worked with Longines to design the Hour-Angle , a GPS like idea before the invention of radars.

  • This watch is in musuem level condition with the original "Red Twelve" enamel dial that still looks sharp. Few hairling cracks at 12 and 6 o'clock.

  • Original "Breguet" and original sub seconds steel hands that have been heat-treated to become blue almost 100 years ago.

  • Case , caseback is original and sterling silver. Even the crown is not a replacement , it is the original sterling silver crown.

  • The movementent has a  bimetallic cut compensated balance, with a blued steel Breguet overcoil spring and fifteen jewels.

  • 34mm Lug to lug ends and 32mm diagonally. I have put a non distorted wristshot on my 8 inch flat wrist, though not a big size  for a watch today , it is still definitely a acceptable size in a long sleeve/office environment.

The movement will be regulated one last time before shipping.
